14: REAL MADRID's SEEDORF passed to DELGADO who quickly knocked it on to an unmarked GONZALES who started.a sprint for goal. He took the ball some distance and then held it up looking around for a few options. He passed to RAVANELLI on the edge of the LEICESTER CITY area who laid a fine ball back for JARNI under pressure from SAMUEL. JARNI stepped skilfully to one side and shot. It almost caused a few problems for FLOWERS as it bounced awkwardly but eventually he had it safely in his arms.
22: A long kick from REAL MADRID's keeper bounced to-and-f ro off the heads of the midfielder in a game of head tennis until it landed at the feet of JARNI who intelligently played the ball out wide to GONZALES. He then slid the ball past SAMUEL and crossed into the area. Sadly it was a poor effort which flew high over the head of DELGADO and into the outstretched arms of FLOWERS who'd come out to meet it.
32: REAL MADRID's RAVANELLI passed to HIERRO who quickly knocked it on to an unmarked JARNI who started a sprint for goal. He rode his luck as he made it to the edge of the LEICESTER CITY penalty box. He was almost tripped by ELLIOTT but managed to send the ball wide to EDGAR who's first time cross was met by the welcome head of DELGADO. It almost caused a few problem for FLOWERS as it bounced awkwardly but eventually he had it safely in his arms.
42: EDGAR (of REAL MADRID) made a long pass right across the pitch which was received on the chest by RAVANELLI who turned to attack LEICESTER CITY's goal. The REAL MADRID fans roared with rage when he was roughly brought down from behind by a clumsy ETCHEVERY. The crowd jeere as a protesting ETCHEVERY was given the yellow card. REAL MADRID were given a direct free kick.
43: Once the Referee was happy that LEICESTER CITY's wall was 10 yards back JARNI took REAL MADRID's free kick. JARNI tried the direct shot. He swung it fast and high over the wall toward the goal. The goalie didn't stand a chance as it smacked into the roof of the net for truly wonderful GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!

55: A midfield situation turned into an attack as REAL MADRID's EDGAR made a fast sprint toward goal. On his heels were SEEDORF and HIERRO leaving LEICESTER CITY's ETCHEVERY a problem on who to chase. With TAGGART close on his heals he snatched a long-range shot from outside the box. As it hit the post the crowd breathed a sigh of relief but the rebound came off FLOWERS as he grappled to gain control and the ball still ended up in the back of the net. GOAL!

He then slid the ball past ELLIOTT and crossed into the area. It wa~ a perfect cross. Both GONZALES and TAGGART went for the ball but GONZALES got the upper hand and managed to fire in a shot which MARSHALL bravely threw himself in front of. The ball struck him full in the face and rebounded to the edge of the area where it was cleared. MARSHALL stayed sprawled on the pitch. Play was stopped for the trainer and stretcher to come on. After 2 minutes on the by-line MARSHALL had recovered enough to return.
68: REAL MADRID's HIERRO made a long pass to SEEDORF who then neatly turned LENNON who was marking him and ran towards goal releasing the ball to EDGAR, who had stormed up field in support from behind, hoping his momentum would unsteady the LEICESTER CITY's defence. He took it past HESKEY and played a tempting ball through the defence to GONZALES but he was offside. LEICESTER CITY's free kick was taken by SAMUEL and play resumed.
70: LEICESTER CITY made a substitution: IZZET off, NEIL on.

75: REAL MADRID made a substitution: SAVIO came on for JARNI.

75: HESKEY and RAVANELLI rose to meet a long kick from REAL MADRID's goalie. HESKEY manage to get his head to the ball but couldn't direct it. The ball fell invitingly for SALGADO anc REAL MADRID were back on the attack. Once round TAGGART and with ELLIOTT closing in he took shot. The effort was poor. As soon as he had hit it the goalkeeper held his arms out indicating it was going wide. This prompted the LEICESTER CITY fans into shouting "AAAAAAAHHHHHH!" in mockery.
84: LEICESTER CITY's LENNON passed to ETCHEVERY who quickly knocked it on to an unmarked MARSHALL who started a sprint for goal. A neat little side pass to SAMUEL as he dodged past HIERRO was returned and he found himself with enough space for the shot. KELLER stood dumb-struck as the ball zipped into the far corner for a totally terrific GOOOOOAAAAALLL!
