12: REAL MADRID's SEEDORF passed to KAREMBEU who quickly knocked it on to an unmarked JARNI who started a sprint for goal. He went to take it past ZE MARIA but was pulled back and fell. REAL MADRID's GONZALES raced over to confront ZE MARIA but the Referee soon calmed things down. REAL MADRID were awarded an indirect free kick.

13: REAL MADRID's free kick was quickly taken by EDGAR who flicked it to SEEDORF. He headed it on to GONZALES who brought it under control and sprinted up the field neatly passing an unprepared BOLANO. GONZALES lobs the ball into the area, only to be cleared for a throw, by ZE MARIA. RAVANELLI launches a throw deep into the heart of PARMA's area. The ball is flicked on into the six yard box, where it is poorly cleared by SARTOR to the edge of the area where JARNI takes the ball beautifully on his chest and half-volleys the ball through a packed area. Even though BUFFON had the angle covered his outstretched leg only succeeded in pushing the ball onto the post and over the line. GOAL!

24: REAL MADRID's RAVANELLI won a 50/50 tackle in midfield with BAGGIO and advanced menacingly toward the PARMA goal. He rode his luck as he made it to the edge of the PARMA penalty box. He was almost tripped by MUSSI but managed to send the ball wide to JARNI who's first time cross was met by the welcome head of GONZALES. With a magnificent leap BUFFON just managed to punch it over the crossbar for a corner.

25: EDGAR took the corner and delivered a vicious in-swinger. It was a great pass which found GONZALES in a great position. He rifled off an early shot. With a magnificent leap BUFFON just managed to get a hand to it and punch it out for HERVATIN to carry away upfield.

44: REAL MADRID's EDGAR unfairly brought down one of the PARMA players, giving away a free kick. PIZZI stepped up to take it and passed square to HERVATIN. He took it easily round KAREMBEU and played a short ball to CRESPO. Under pressure from KAREMBEU he managed to deliver a great ball into REAL MADRID's 6-yard box. FETTIS rose to catch it but a lack of communication in defence meant that CARLOS's head met the ball first and it bounced invitingly out to AMARAL on the edge of the penalty area. He took aim and then struck a shot at goal. FETTIS had closed down the angle and his outstretched foot put the ball past the post and into touch for a corner.

45: CRESPO knocked the ball short to BOLANO. BOLANO stunned tLe ball for CRESPO to deliver into the area.It was a great pass which found HERVATIN in a g;eat position. He rifled off an early shot. With a magnificent leap FETTIS just managed to get a hand to it and punch it out for CARLOS to carry away upfield.

56: PARMA had a throw-in, taken by ZE MARIA. The ball looped over SEEDORF's head and fell sweetly for PIZZI. He shook off REAL MADRID'S RAVANELLI, and set off on a break up the right. His silky-smooth skills took him past REAL MADRID's VITOR but a careless elbow from HIERRO knocked him to the ground to end his great run. He quickly got up and turned to confront HIERRO and a little pushing and shoving match followed. The Referee eventually broke them up, waved PIZZI away while he had a quiet word with HIERRO. HIERRO hung his head low as the Referee pulled out the yellow card. The Referee gave PARMA an indirect free kick, but nothing came of it and REAL MADRID's defence were able to clear the ball away with ease.

69: PARMA's goalie booted the ball up the field which PIZZI brought under control and turned to attack. He rounded JARNI with ease and played a short ball to CRESPO. Under pressure from SALGADO he delivered a poor ball into REAL MADRID's 6-yard box. FETTIS rose to catch it but a lack of communication in defence meant that CARLOS's head met the ball first and it bounced invitingly in front of HERVATIN on the edge of the penalty area. 75: REAL MADRID made a substitution: SEEDORF off, QUIQUE on.

80: PARMA's defence cleared to PIZZI who's flick on put BAGGIO on the attack. REAL MADRID's VITOR took up the chase and it was his messy tackle that sent BAGGIO tumbling to the ground, much to the delight of REAL MADRID's cheering fans. REAL MADRID conceded an indirect free kick.

81: HERVATIN took the kick and sent it sailing towards BOLANO. He in turn released the ball to CRESPO, but as he did he was brought clattering to the ground. The Ref did not hesitate and simply waved play on as CRESPO ignored the plight of his downed team mate and took PARMA on the offensive. He rode his luck as he made it to the edge of the REAL MADRID penalty box. He looked to be tripped by JARNI but had luckily sent the ball wide to AMARAL who's first time cross found the welcome foot of BAGGIO on the volley. As the REAL MADRID defence watched with their hearts in their mouths FETTIS managed to get his fingers to it, but it wasn't enough and he couldn't prevent a stunning GOAL!
