8: AC MILAN's long throw in sailed high into REAL MADRID's box. It was a stunning ball which was met. by the head of BOBAN. His header looped high over the goalie who was off his line but it was headed away by VITOR who was covering and CARLOS played the ball away for REAL MADRID preventing what would've been a goal.
21: KAREMBEU (of REAL MADRID) made a long pass right across the pitch
which was received on the chest by EDGAR who turned to attack AC MILAN's
goal. He rounded ANDRE CRUZ with ease and played a short ball to GONZALES.
Under pressure from CRUZ he delivered a poor ball into AC MILAN'S 6-yard
box. ROCCATI rose to catch it but a lack of communication in defence meant
that ALBERTINI's head met the ball first and it bounced invitingly in front
of RAVANELLI on the edge of the penalty area. He took a second to aim and
then struck for goal. ROCCATI never stood a chance as the ball whistled
straight past him and crashed into the back of the net.

32: AC MILAN's DE ASCENTIS beat SALGADO to a long kick from the goalie. ALIYU was still in the REAL MADRID half after picking himself up after the crunching tackle by HIERRO. Further upfield DE ASCENTIS played a clever through ball to MASSARO, beating the offside trap. Even though the straying AC MILAN player was not interfering with play, he was stood still with his arms raised, the referee blew for offside. The AC MILAN players and fans were incensed by the decision and the AC MILAN captain went over to the referee to remind him of the offside rules.
43: AC MILAN's GATTUSO made a long pass to ALIYU who then neatly turned KAREMBEU who was marking him and ran towards goal releasing the ball to MASSARO, who had stormed up field in support from behind, hoping his momentum would unsteady the REAL MADRID's defence. He played a fine ball through the gap toward ALBERTINI but he'd wandered offside.

54: AC MILAN's ALIYU delivered a long throw-in toward CRUZ. KAREMBEU's challenge was clumsy but the Referee waved play on as CRUZ set off on a twisty-turny run toward the box. 62: REAL MADRID's defence poorly cleared the ball and it fell nicely for AC MILAN's BOBAN. He saw MASSARO making a fine run and slotted a brilliant ball through toward him but the linesman's flag was up for offside against ALIYU.
72: AC MILAN had a throw in, taken by MASSARO. His short throw found DE ASCENTIS who returned the ball under pressure from HIERRO. MASSARO took the ball inside and played a searching ball forward. The ball was knocked behind by GONZALES. ALIYU took the corner. He swung it in to the near post with venom. The keeper just managed to react with a outstretched fist and CARLOS cleared the ball.
75: REAL MADRID made a substitution: EDGAR off, QUIQUE on.
82: AL.BERTINI tried to hold the ball up on the halfway line but was
caught in possession by a crunching tackle from SEEDORF sending him tumbling
to the ground. The crowd roared but the Referee waved play-on as KAREMBEU
took control and sent GONZALES on a dangerous run. Pure skill took him
past an ungainly ANDRE CRUZ, right to the edge of the area where he flicked
it square to RAVANELLI who'd pulled off his marker to give himself space
for a stunning mid-air volley. The REAL MADRID fans roared as it sailed
into the top corner for a spectacular GOAL!
